ABOUT
Aging isn’t just about the lines and wrinkles on your face. It also occurs beneath the skin. Signs of aging exist at every layer of the facial structure, including the skin, fat pads, muscles and bone.
As you age, you experience a loss of facial glands, collagen and elastin. This can greatly reduce the moisture in your skin, which results in the development of laugh lines, frown lines and crow’s feet. It also causes increased discoloration and a rougher texture.
Fat pads are located below the skin’s surface. As you age, they get thinner and descend. Hollows can form beneath the eyes. Drooping skin can cause deep lines around the nose and mouth. Fat can accumulate beneath the chin causing a double chin.
Muscles lie beneath the fat pads. As you age, loss of facial fat along with gravity and repeated activity lead to deep wrinkles in the face.
Lastly, the bones are the foundation for your facial muscles, fat pads and skin. As you age, you experience facial bone loss, which changes the dimensions and contour of your face.
OUR RECOMMENDATION
At CK Plastic Surgery we have several options to combat the signs of facial aging:
Ultherapy
Ultherapy is the only non-invasive procedure FDA-cleared to lift skin on the neck, under the chin and on the eyebrow. Now also FDA-cleared to improve the appearance of lines and wrinkles on the décolletage.
Ultherapy harnesses the power of ultrasound to transform the brow, chin, neck and chest. Ultrasound, of course, has been used throughout the medical field for more than 50 years—and Ultherapy has been established as effective in clinical studies* and in over a million treatments worldwide.
Thread Lift
While there are many different types of thread lifts, the PDO thread lift is amongst the most popular today. The threads are made in South Korea, and is one of the most commonly performed skin lifting procedures today. The PDO Thread Lift is a treatment which lifts and tightens sagging skin tissue, using threads made of Polydioxanone (PDO). The threads introduce them into the deeper layers of the skin, creating a more tigthened and youthful appearance.
SMAS Face Lift
Facelifts are some of the most popular procedures in the plastic surgery industry. Also known as rhytidectomy, a facelift is a surgical procedure aimed to improve visible signs of aging in the face and neck, it can also improve upon relaxation of the skin of the face causing sagging, deepening of the fold lines between the nose and corner of the mouth, fat that has fallen or has disappeared, jowls developing in the cheeks and jaw, as well as loose skin and excess fat of the neck that can appear as a double chin.
PRP Plasma Lift
Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) is a non-invasive and safe rejuvenation treatment because it is autologous — meaning it uses blood plasma from your own body to rejuvenate the skin. This is why it is sometimes called a “vampire facelift” but it is not a surgical facelift in the true sense of the word. It is a much less invasive procedure wherein the plasma is enriched with platelets – blood cells whose function is to promote faster healing with less swelling and bruising.
Dermal Fillers
Wrinkles formed by frequent muscle use and the reduction of facial fat are not easy to correct without filling in the gaps. Fillers are used to raise the skin to fill in the gaps therefore reducing wrinkles. Hyaluronic acid is a composing element of the skin and cartilage and also the main component of fillers. Since it is completely absorbed into the body over time it can be safely used.
