ABOUT
The process of aging is not only about the wrinkles and lines of your face. Aging also occurs beneath your skin. The signs of aging show at nearly every layer of your facial structure, including your skin, muscles, fat pads, and bone.
As you begin to age, you will see a loss of facial glands, elastin, and collagen. These losses can significantly lessen your skin's moisture, which can result in the development of frown lines, laugh lines, and crow’s feet. Aging also causes discoloration and a rougher skin texture.
Your fat pads are found below the skin’s surface. As you begin to age, they will descend and get thinner. Hollows will often form beneath your eyes. Drooping skin on the face can result in deep lines around your nose and mouth. The accumulation of fat beneath the chin causes a double chin.
With the muscles that lie beneath the fat pads, aging along with the loss of facial fat, coupled with repeated activity and gravity can lead to deep wrinkles in your face.
Finally, your bones are the base for the muscles of your face, your fat pads, and your skin. With aging, you will experience facial bone loss which changes the contour and dimensions of your face.
OUR RECOMMENDATION
At CK Plastic Surgery we have several options to combat the signs of facial aging:
Ultherapy
Ultherapy is the only non-invasive procedure FDA-cleared to lift skin on the neck, under the chin and on the eyebrow. Now also FDA-cleared to improve the appearance of lines and wrinkles on the décolletage.
Ultherapy harnesses the power of ultrasound to transform the brow, chin, neck and chest. Ultrasound, of course, has been used throughout the medical field for more than 50 years—and Ultherapy has been established as effective in clinical studies* and in over a million treatments worldwide.
Thread Lift
While there are many different types of thread lifts, the PDO thread lift is amongst the most popular today. The threads used are crafted in South Korea, with the Thread Lift being of the most often performed skin lifting procedures in today's enviroment. The PDO Thread Lift is a procedure that tightens and lifts sagging skin tissue by utilizing threads made of Polydioxanone, also known as PDO. The threads are introduced into the deeper layers of skin and create a more youthful and tightened appearance.
SMAS Face Lift
Facelift procedures are among the most sought-after procedures in the industry of plastic surgery. Also referred to as a rhytidectomy, the facelift is a surgical procedure that aims to diminish the visible signs of aging in the neck and face. A facelift can also help to fix the relaxation of facial skin that causes sagging amd deepening of fold lines between the corners of the mouth and the nose. A facelift can help to counteract fat that has fallen or has disappeared and it can reverse jowls that are developing in the jaw and cheeks. Finally, excess fat and loose skin around the neck that can result in a double chin, can be fixed via a facelift.
PRP Plasma Lift
The Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) Lift is a safe and non-invasive rejuv treatment due to it being autologous — this means taht it utilizes your own body's blood plasma to rejuvenate your skin. This is why the procedure is sometimes humorously referred to as a “vampire facelift.” It is important to note, however, that this is not a surgical facelift in the truest sense of the term. The PRP Plasma Lift is a significantly less invasive procedure through which the plasma is enriched by platelets, the blood cells that function to promote quicker healing while having less bruising and swelling.
Dermal Fillers
The wrinkles that are formed through frequently used muscles as well as reduction of facial fat are difficult to counteract without filling the gaps. Fillers are utilized to raise skin, which fills in the gaps. This reduces wrinkles. Hyaluronic acid in the cartilage and skin is also the main component of dermal fillers. Over time, it is fully absorbed into the body, thus it can be used safely.
