Gynecomastia is the overdevelopment of the male breast, often seen in younger male patients. This symptom commonly happens during puberty. It is caused by hormone changes (estrogen and testosterone) and disappears naturally after 6-19 months. However, it may lead to adult gynecomastia, causing emotional stress and inconvenience in life. Also, gynecomastia can be caused by obesity or associated with certain medical conditions related to the thyroid, kidney, or liver. Male breast correction at CK Plastic Surgery can effectively reduce a man’s breast size and help regain confidence and self-esteem.
How is Gynecomastia Surgery performed?
In mild to moderate cases, ultrasonic liposuction can resolve the excess breast tissue with only
a 1 cm small incision on the armpit or around the areola. For more severe cases, breast liposuction
is first performed to remove excess fat tissue and a small incision around the areola is made to
remove the necessary amount of glandular tissue. In rare cases, skin excision is also required.
Gynecomastia Surgery can benefit:
- A man with excess breast tissue.
- A man who has sagging breast due to extreme weight loss.
- A man with a hormone imbalance.
